Project:
Parsons has been awarded a contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to support a five-year facility management program for one of the agencies that GSA services. Parsons is providing overall coordination, program management, procurement, and construction management services in response to growing requirements from GSA’s client. The requirements generally involve the planning and execution of technology and infrastructure upgrades at ports of entry and other government facilities nationwide.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Independently performs a wide variety of more difficult and complex environmental sampling and data collection tasks. Compiles and computes a variety of data. May analyze test data, develop or prepare descriptive charts, figures, or matrices; test specifications; or make recommendations regarding these items. The Scientist at this level is a qualified professional, proficient in utilizing most of the relevant theories and practices of the discipline. Assignments may involve the application of computer models and require an in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and control strategies relevant to their technical areas. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual must have experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating environmental programs, handbooks, and training manuals. Individuals must be knowledgeable of all Executive Orders, Public Laws, and other policies that govern the area of environmental, endangered species, and historical preservation management.
Required duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Developing current and appropriate environmental planning policy.
- Assisting with a planning data management system.
- Reviewing environmental planning documents.
- Facilitating dialogue with external environmental and energy initiative stakeholders.
