Need
Parsons is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to expand its Energy and Power offerings by leading and growing our team of Energy Engineering professionals. The Energy Engineering - Subject Matter Expert will serve as specialized resource for internal and external customers in the areas of:
· Energy Production (use of micro-grids to integrate renewable resources),
· Efficient Energy Transmission and Distribution (use of Smart Grid)
· Energy Storage
· Data Center Energy Efficiency Upgrades (Federal Data Center Consolidation)
· Zero net energy (ZNE) installations.
Responsibilities include:
· The successful candidate will collaborate and develop solutions with multiple engineering disciplines as well as develop project specific design criteria, calculations, analysis, construction details, and reports.
· Must be capable of leading and training junior engineers in a matrixed organization and support other Parsons Global Business Units.
· Design, development and building of renewable energy technologies;
· Integration of renewable energy generation into existing power systems;
· Liaising and negotiating with fuel providers, specialty contractors, and relevant organizations. Assist sales and operations in the development, procurement and execution of performance contract;
· Deployment or operation of distribution automation equipment, distribution management systems, outage management systems, asset management systems, SCADA, Demand Side management (DSM), smart grid technologies and tools, distribution information and control systems. Familiarity with commercially available software; like TrakSmart®, GridSmart®, HEDGE®, COMET®, and RevenueManager™ and energy analysis tools such as TRACE 700™ and System Analyzer™ or equivalent;
· Familiarity with application of new metering devices, meter programming and diagnostic software, remote and automatic meter reading systems, substation and inter-tie metering, distribution dispatch methods, electric distribution operating equipment and procedures, field switching practices;
· Supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify facility improvement measures (FIMS) and/or opportunities;
· Prepare financial models related to payment including an understanding of ROI, life cycle costing and internal rate of return. Understand and evaluate energy supply side saving opportunities like: water conservation, and co-generation for inclusion into performance contracts. Monitor project performance particularly those that guarantee savings.
