Oversees design and engineering management of Airport Security Systems. Closely liaises with Police/Security, Master planners, design consultants, related discipline engineers and project design managers to ensure effective implementation of security systems requirements.
Following responsibilities:
· Facilitates meetings with users and designers/consultants to identify Security System requirements (e.g., hardware, software, and/or specifications regarding system functionality) and to establish a schedule for on-time completion. Users may be airlines, Police/security, Client or other government agencies.
· Security Systems include: Screening, Video Management systems, PSIM, Access Control, Biometrics, Intrusion detection system, video analytics, operation centers, network
· Manages review by Consultant for completeness of Security System Contractor Submittals and RFI(s) and verifies adequacy of response and inter-disciplinary input prior to return to the Contractor.
· Evaluate technology and provide professional opinions.
· Participates in the review and approval of proposed Security systems subcontractors and proposed system architecture and equipment.
· Manage coordination between user groups, construction managers, and construction contractors during construction.
· Manage Security System Design-Builder planning and execution of tasks addressing assembly, testing, evaluation, and installation of final system components.
· Monitor systems integration efforts, record results, and acquire sign-off from appropriate resources.
· Assists in validation of testing and commissioning, start-up, record drawings and post-occupancy evaluations.
· Supports Client's efforts in training and activation of Security systems.
· Verify compliance of IT and Security standards.
· Monitor schedule and cost of the project for contractual compliance and interfaces with other projects.
· Verify completion of work performed considering time and budget.
· May provide technical guidance to lower-level Security/IT personnel assigned to project.
· Keeps abreast of current and newly-developing technologies.
· Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
